Money tips
The best and safest method of obtaining money in Krakow is via ATM’s (called Bankomats.) There are plenty of them and you’ll get instant exchange rates. Check with your bank before you leave for any fees they may charge. It’s also a good idea to let your bank know you’ll be withdrawing money abroad. Most banks and exchange offices will exchange cash for you, as well as cash traveller’s cheques. You can find exchange offices in the city centre; but the exchange rate is usually quite poor. It’s not always easy finding a place that accepts traveller’s cheques and while credit cards are increasingly being accepted in more touristy areas; it’s best to have cash on hand.
Tipping is expected in restaurants and taxis; usually about 10%.
