The 10 Best Stag Destinations

Prague

Prague Stag do

Prague is one of our most popular stag destinations in Europe. It’s got charm during the day, but when darkness creeps in, things heat up and get a little bit wild. There’s a proper buzz in the air, especially around the Old Town and Wenceslas Square.

Getting there couldn’t be easier. With many international connections at Václav Havel Airport, plus overland access from places like Germany and Poland, it’s accessible to everyone. When it comes to activities, you’re spoilt for choice, from intense archery battles to full-on medieval feasts.

Most bachelor parties come in the summer (June to August), but Prague doesn’t slow down in winter (December to February). If you wait until mid-January or February after the Christmas markets wrap up, you can usually grab better deals. It’s still great value compared to many European capitals, although prices have increased over the year due to its growing popularity.

Budapest

Budapest Stag Do

Another big name, Budapest, needs no introduction. The party scene here is next level. You’ll find ruin bars scattered through quirky quarters, and the SPARTY - Széchenyi Bath Party, where you can get wet and wild.

Budapest is just a short journey away for most travellers. It’s easy to fly into Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport from pretty much anywhere in Europe. If you’re already travelling from somewhere nearby, trains and intercity buses run smoothly from bigs cities like Vienna and Bratislava. Fill your days with action-packed experiences such as karting, and take on the challenge of an escape game.

Visiting during the shoulder seasons (April to May and September to October) helps you avoid the peak heat and winter chill. Regardless of the time of year, prices in Budapest remain favourable for stag parties, particularly for accommodation and activities.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam Stag Do

Amsterdam is as pretty as a picture and a fantastic place for lads’ weekends. It blends laid-back cafe culture in spots like De Pijp with the electric atmosphere of squares like Leidseplein, giving you the best of both worlds.

Better still, Amsterdam is conveniently located. As a global hub, the Dutch capital is incredibly well-connected. Take a flight to Schiphol Airport, then you can jump on a train and be in the heart of the city in less than 20 minutes. Once you’ve arrived, there’s no shortage of things to do, including options exclusive to Amsterdam, such as the Dutch Highland Games, guaranteed to separate the boys from the men.

Both summer and winter are popular times to visit, though the shoulder seasons are ideal if you’re looking to cut costs. While Amsterdam is more expensive than many other cities, it’s still possible to make it work on a budget by staying in quieter areas like Amsterdam Noord and sticking to low-cost eats and bars in the evenings.

Barcelona

Barcelona Stag Do

Barcelona brings together vibrant culture with a proper sporting heritage that any stag party can appreciate. This gem on the Mediterranean is cool, trendy, and seriously fun, with districts like La Ribera and El Raval always a good time. The city is served by its own airport, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport, where the vast majority of groups fly in to kick off their trip.

You might as well make the most of being on the Mediterranean with thrilling boat trips, such as a sunset jazz cruise on a catamaran, or tap into your sporty side with a tour of the iconic Camp Nou. If you struggle with the heat, you’re better off saving your trip for winter, as it gets seriously hot here in summer, and the cooler months will be kinder to your wallet, too. Barcelona sits in our mid-range bracket: not overly expensive, but not as cheap as some places in Eastern Europe. A happy medium!

Benidorm

Benidorm Stag Do

Benidorm has long been a favourite among Brits, making it a highly sought-after stag do spot. You get stunning coastline, numerous watering holes and beach clubs overlooking the ocean, where every day feels like a party. Alicante Airport is only around a 40-minute drive away, with an abundance of cheap flights from cities across the UK, operated by airlines such as EasyJet and Ryanair.

From splashing around in water parks to taking part in cultural activities like baby bull running, there's so much to see and do. For some fun in the sun, May to September promises the best weather. It’s high season, so you’re guaranteed plenty of action. Benidorm is also one of those places where it can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be, so it's a great choice for groups of all budgets.

Krakow

krakow-main-square

Offering a mix of nightlife, culture, and history, Krakow delivers on every front for a stag party. Fly into John Paul II International Airport Kraków–Balice, and the drive to the city centre is just 25 minutes. Alternatively, there are train options from other major Polish cities, such as Warsaw or Gdańsk, if you want to make it a longer trip.

Be sure to arrange some epic activities to make your weekend truly unforgettable. You could dive straight into the action at a shooting range, trying firearms such as a Glauberyt machine gun, or keep things cultural with a traditional Polish meal and drinks.

Krakow is a year-round destination, with summer being the busiest and warmest season, while winter brings colder temperatures. Eating out is generally affordable once you stay outside the main tourist areas. Plus, budget-friendly accommodation is often available at lower prices than you’d typically find in Western Europe.

Ibiza

ibiza-4475750 1920

Ibiza is one of the world's biggest party capitals. San Antonio is famous for its sunset strip, while Playa d’en Bossa is home to mega-clubs like Ushuaïa Ibiza, giving Ibiza a reputation as a true playground for bachelor parties.

This Balearic island has its own airport, Ibiza Airport, with direct flights from many major Spanish and European cities. It’s exciting around the clock, filled with non-stop entertainment like buggy tours, catamaran boat parties, and many other surprises along the way.

The high season runs from June to August, when the vast majority of visitors arrive for the sunshine and the major events held in the superclubs. While winter isn’t entirely off the cards, it's quieter during this period. Be aware, Ibiza is expensive, especially if you’re partying at the biggest clubs. However, if you limit your nights out, it’s possible to make a trip more affordable than you might expect.

Magaluf

Auf Mallorca wird es heiß.

Magaluf is Ibiza’s noisy neighbour over in Mallorca and provides the ultimate base for a stag do. The clubs, the foam parties, the events at BCM, it’s the type of trip that will go down in history!

Palma de Mallorca Airport will be your entry point, and from there you can be at your hotel in less than half an hour to get stuck into the fun. If you’re looking for fun water sports like parasailing or a Formula 1 driving experience before letting your hair down in a mega club, Magaluf is the place to be.

Similar to many seasonal party destinations, Magaluf is best visited in the summer. For that reason, to secure the best deals on accommodation and flights, it’s worth booking ahead, as it’s much cheaper to plan your trip early rather than waiting until the last minute.

Berlin

Berlin Stag Do

Berlin is built for a very particular kind of stag party. The edgy kind that lives for underground raves, pounding techno, and nights that don’t end until sunrise. The city’s airport, Berlin Brandenburg Airport, is the main access point, unless you’d prefer to take the train from elsewhere in Germany, such as Hamburg or Frankfurt.

Pissup has endless activities in Berlin to help you put your own stamp on your stag party. Throw a celebration on an American school bus, unleash some anger in a car demolition experience, or take part in fun games like Social Match.

Given Berlin’s status as a capital city, it’s a reliable choice all year round. As far as Western Europe goes, Berlin is considered better priced than many other European capitals. Breakfast can be found for under €5, there are a great deal of free attractions like the Reichstag Building, and transport passes start at just €12.90.

Lisbon

lisbon sightseeing tours - stag do

Over the past decade, Lisbon has become a major player in the stag do scene. Areas like Bairro Alto, competitive prices and a buzzing bar culture have helped cement its place, and it’s not going anywhere. Groups can fly from just about anywhere into Humberto Delgado Airport, so it also offers unrivalled connectivity compared to destinations with fewer connections.

We’ve steadily built an extensive list of activities in Lisbon that groups will love. These include live Fado shows, high-wire adventure courses and outdoor matches to experience the beautiful game in Ronaldo’s homeland. As a cosmopolitan city, Lisbon maintains its appeal all year long. Prices remain largely consistent, aside from slight increases during the summer and European holiday periods such as Easter.

How to Choose the Right Stag Destination

Unsure about where to host your stag party in Europe? This section will help you decide on a destination for your upcoming lad’s weekend.

Budget Range

Budget is a major factor to consider when selecting a place for your stag party. You need to choose somewhere that aligns with how much you and your pals are willing to spend on a nice getaway. Here’s a breakdown of the price range.

Low budget (€)

  • Cheap accommodation options such as hostels, B&Bs, or guesthouses outside the main centre.

  • Visiting only free entry bars and clubs with low-cost menus.

  • One to three reasonably priced activities.

  • Eating at fast food chains or restaurants that are easy on the wallet.

  • Sticking to public transport or walking between attractions on foot.

Mid-range budget (€€)

  • Staying in moderately priced hotels or apartments in or around the centre.

  • Spending nights in mid-level bars and ending the night in paid entry clubs.

  • Including one to four activities with a stronger focus on quality than cost.

  • Dining in restaurants with average prices.

  • Using a mix of public transport and ridesharing apps.

High budget (€€€)

  • Booking luxury hotels in the city centre.

  • Visiting upscale nightlife spots without factoring in entry costs.

  • Adding up to 5 paid activities each day of your itinerary.

  • Having meals in upscale restaurants.

  • Opting for only ridesharing apps or taxis to travel around.

Transport

Transport links can make all the difference when on a stag do. They quickly drive up costs and directly impact how long it takes you to get from A to B.

Start by choosing somewhere with direct flights from your home city to keep things simple, especially for a weekend trip, where you don’t want delays eating into your time. Next, make sure there are strong connections from the airport to the city centre, whether that’s regular buses, trains, or affordable transfers, so you’re not stuck figuring things out after landing. Finally, prioritise reliability. The last thing you want is late transport causing you to miss bookings or cut into your itinerary.

Activity Types

Tallinn quad biking - Pissup stag do

Every stag wants something different for his last weekend of freedom, so you’ll want to choose activities that fit the bill.

  • If all you care about is chilling by the beach on a sun lounger and great weather, stick to places by the coast like Benidorm or Barcelona. Those who are fans of urban nightlife should pick a city with an established club scene, like Berlin.

  • More after something like a chilled city break with the boys? Lisbon strikes a nice balance between fun, culture, and a big city feel.

  • Prefer the great outdoors? Krakow may be known as the city that comes alive at night. But there are lots of exciting things to do here, like quad bike rides, white water rafting, and more adventures that will have you on the edge of your seat.

  • If an island escape is more your style, head to Mallorca or Ibiza, where warm weather and ocean swims are part of everyday life.

Season & Climate

hot-girls-and-guys-partying-by-the-beach-at-sunset-IST

Peak season in many of our European destinations runs in summer, from June to July, when many groups choose to book their trips. There are a number of reasons for this, including better weather, more time off for Europeans in summer, and budget airlines like Ryanair often hosting sales around this time of year. However, when more people travel, everything costs more, and our activities sell out faster. The shoulder season (May and September) is becoming more popular because you still get good weather, but it’s slightly cheaper due to lower demand.

You’re pretty much guaranteed sun around Europe in summer, which is another big plus. But in some parts of the continent, this period can also bring afternoon showers and thunderstorms, especially in Budapest and Bucharest. Winter can be cold, and some places even get snow, such as Prague, Krakow, and Amsterdam. However, if you still want some heat, then Benidorm, Mallorca, or Ibiza are good options.

Practical Considerations Before Booking

Seasonal Pricing

High season means bigger demand, and bigger demand means higher prices. The closer you book to your travel dates, the more you’ll usually pay.

In the low season, prices are generally much lower across the board. Accommodation is cheaper, flights are more affordable, and there’s greater availability. However, there are exceptions. Major events can push prices up even during the low season. For example, cities like Budapest see price spikes in December due to the popular Christmas markets. So while it may technically be low season, high demand during specific events will still drive costs up.

Local Nightlife Regulations

Munich party scene - Nightlife guide - Pissup

Each city has its own rules regarding club and bar opening hours. The rules tend to be more lenient on islands like Mallorca and Ibiza, which have a big party reputation, so venues often remain open throughout the night. However, other cities may have stricter regulations.

Venues often have security that enforces entry rules. Smile, act sober when you show up, don’t carry anything that could be considered a weapon, and always have a valid ID, no matter how old you are. Some may also have dress codes requiring customers to follow a smart dress code, which is usually stated on their websites.

In some parts of Europe, other local restrictions may apply, such as certain bars not allowing stag groups and bans on drinking in public spaces, as is the case in Poland.

Currency

Many European countries, such as Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany, use the Euro, but others, like Hungary and Poland, do not. Depending on where you’re coming from, you may need to exchange money at an exchange office or withdraw cash from an ATM. Most cities have kiosks for changing money, but it’s a good idea to see if taking cash out at an ATM is more cost-effective, as both can charge different fees.

In built-up areas, you shouldn’t have any issues using a debit or credit card, especially in locations that get a lot of tourists. That said, if you end up in a local eatery or bar, they may only accept cash, so keeping some notes on hand just in case is a smart move.

Transport Logistics

Generally, the cities we operate in have good public transport connections, with buses and trains readily available at airports. Many have train stations that connect you to all corners, including areas with big attractions and near hotels. Likewise, with buses, you can reach just about anywhere as there are stops providing convenient access. The same goes for metros, as you’re usually only ever a ride away from the next stop on your itinerary.

However, when you’re travelling in a large group, it makes more sense to book a private car transfer for added convenience. You’ll have a driver ready to take you to your hotel, so you won't have to wait around. Smaller cities like Bratislava, that are very walkable, make things smoother to navigate and help you save money on transport.

As with every city, taxis are also easily hailed on the sides of the street, or you can use ridesharing apps like Uber or Bolt to compare prices.
