Located in the South West of Slovakia, Bratislava is the only national capital that borders two independent countries, Austria and Hungary. Don’t be fooled by the small geographical size of Bratislava, for what it lacks in that department it certainly makes up for in its choice of stag do activities.
The skyline of Bratislava is characterised by medieval towers and flamboyant 20th-century buildings and possess several interesting sites from which you can view these grandiose landmarks. The UFO situated on the city’s newest bridge is a must visit. It houses a stylish restaurant and bar situated 90m above the Danube and offers great panoramic views of the city. Views from the Kamzík TV tower situated in the city’s forest can stretch to Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
A Bratislava stag do offers great value for money and this is epitomised in the cost of getting there. The 2hr 15 minute flight to the Slovakian capital start from as low as £52 return with Ryanair. Although a great city in its own right, Bratislava is brilliantly positioned to also enjoy some of the continent’s larger capital cities. Only an hour drive to Vienna, an additional hour to Budapest and a further hour to Prague, Bratislava provides the excellent base from which you can enjoy an adventurous weekend away with the boys.
Here at Pissup we haven’t nicknamed Bratislava ‘Partyslavia’ for no reason! Whilst us stag lads can appreciate beautiful architecture, what a Bratislava stag do is really about is the partying in the evening. During the Summer months, Bratislava takes the party outdoors to the multiple open air clubs and bars. The banks of the river Danube also provide the venue for some cool artificial beach parties and the talent that lines the river’s banks is said to be some of the most beautiful in the world. Furthermore, if you fancy a break from the more traditional forms of accommodation, the Danube has multiple ‘boatels’ in which you can lay your weary head at the end of a night where you have gotten totally slovakered!
If the sun is not shining then don’t worry, Bratislava still has copious amounts of hotspots situated in some seriously cool venues in which you can don your dancing shoes. Iconic Subclub is situated under the city’s castle, whilst Club Loft is situated in the neighbourhood of the main bus station and has just been refurbished with some chic interior. An additional bonus for the smokers among you, Bratislava allows you to puff in almost every bar, club and pub in the city.
