Stretch Your Legs In The Spanish Countryside
Cycle through Barcelona's vineyards on Pissup's half day stag and hen do activity. Immerse yourselves in nature while learning about the process of wine making.
Head off on a half day bike ride where your squad will encounter lush vineyards, oaky almond trees, multiple olive groves, pink peaches, and well designed dry stone huts. You'll get to stop at a family owned winery to learn about everything that goes into making the fine wine and cava that locals all over the country drink on the weekends. It wouldn't be a real trip to a winery without a cheeky sample, which the group will get along with a brief explanation about each one. A local guide will be extremely knowledgeable and take you around the vineyard itself to show you where the magic is produced.
Do you have a friend who's obsessed with wine? If so, book this activity for their stag or hen weekend away in Barcelona before it's too late.
What To Expect
Your bike tour will begin from the train station of Laverne-Subirats, which is approximately 50 minutes from Barcelona. An experienced tour guide will be there to welcome you and deliver your bikes for the day ahead. How exciting.
Cycle through the opulent vineyards of the Penedes while listening to commentary about viticulture and the region where you are. Learn about the vegetative cycle, organic farming, and phylloxera while standing in the middle of the action. You don't want to miss this.
To give those legs of yours a rest, we'll stop at a boutique ecological winery, where the owners will meet your party. They'll give you a little tour of the complex and share their secrets of how they make the wine and cava they produce in abundance. As a little thank you for visiting, the group will be allowed to taste their best wines. Not too much now, or you could end up being too drunk to finish off the tour.
The excursion will end with your bachelor or bachelorette party cycling back to the train station to drop off the bikes. By the time you take the train back to Barcelona, you all will have a taste for wine, so why don't you try more at our rooftop wine tasting activity? Sample seven glasses of different types of Spanish wine while a knowledgeable sommelier teaches you a thing or two. Damn, you're going to be all wined out after this.
How To Get To The Bike Tour Departure Point
Take the R4 Renfe Cercanies train at 9:15 a.m. from Plaça Catalunya. The station entrance is on the corner of Ronda Universitat and Rambla de Catalunya. If you can't find it, just ask someone for directions.
Some trains also depart from the Arc de Triomf station and Sants station. Choose whichever suits the group.
The return train to Barcelona will depart from the Laverne-Subirats station at 14:00 pm. Your local guide will make sure everyone is there on time.
What You Should Know Before Booking This Activity
- Wear comfortable clothing, like sportswear. Cycling in jeans while it's scorching outside doesn't really sound comfortable.
- Bring some sort of waterproof gear just in case it starts raining.
- Sunscreen is essential. You're going to be out in the heat for an extended period of time, so protecting yourselves is key.
