Munich City Guide for Stag Weekends
Munich is the capital and largest city of the German state of Bavaria. It is the third largest city in Germany behind Berlin and Hamburg. It boasts a population of 1.5 million people and the southern state of Bavaria is the most visited in Germany with a staggering 70 million people visiting it each year. A mind blowing 6.3 million people descend on Munich for 16 days every September for its notorious Oktoberfest - but don't worry if you're coming here at any other time...the beer will still be flowing just as freely, and the party vibes are just as wild!
Munich is characterised by a mixture of historic and modern architecture. Whilst some of the more contemporary landmarks such as the Allianz Arena and the BMW headquarters symbolise modern Munich, the inner centre is dominated by baroque architecture. At the heart of the city centre lies the large town square, Marienplatz. The Frauenkirche, a 500 year old church is probably the most famous building in the city centre. For those of you are homesick, head to The Englischer Garten, one of the largest city parks in Europe and the perfect place for a lazy afternoon and a few beers in its four beer gardens, the largest of which has a capacity of 7,000 and has a Chinese Tower as its focal point. Also be sure to check out the lakes, hills and footpaths of the Olympic Park, which was built for the 1972 Olympic Games!
How to get to Munich
Easyjet fly direct to Munich from Stansted and Gatwick on a daily basis. The trip takes a swift 1h 50 mins and tickets can be purchased for as little as £74 return. There are also fairly frequent flights from major regional centres, such as Manchester and Southampton as well as Scottish cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Prices very of course, and can go up sharply in the Summer months. Munich's weather, thanks its location in Southern Germany, means there is a long period of warmth from Spring with highs of 20 in June and up to 23 degrees in July.
Nightlife in Munich is Mega Fun!
After dark, the majority of the Munich's nightlife scene is located in the city centre. Traditional Bavarian boozers are found all over the city, however, the Schwabing area has a dense concentration of them. A visit to Germany is not complete without a visit to a traditional beer hall and our aptly named Munich Beer will take you to one of Munich’s finest and bung in two free beers.
As you might decipher from the name Skyline offers great panoramic views. For more exotic feels head to the vibrant Cuban hangout Cohibar, or the beach volleyball court of Beach 38 °c.
World famous superclub Pacha has a glamorous club located in Maximiliansplatz and hosts some of the world’s best djs. Ksar Barclub is also a must for the clubbers amongst you, located in the energetic Glockenbach area. Don’t spend time deciding about where to go and party in the city. Book one of our local English speaking guides, and go on Bar Crawl, Strip Club & Nightclub tour to explore Munich’s hottest hangouts for great prices.
Before you head out for a crazy Munich night out, you should get some good food inside you. And what’s more of a stag do food than steak? It’s exactly the kind of thing you need before you start pounding back those beers. But wait, this being Pissup we aren’t just going to take you to a steakhouse. We will organise a Strip Dinner night out for you. So that after you enjoy a tasty steak in a nice local restaurant you’ll get to enjoy a private strip show for dessert! This activity will ensure you’ll start off as you mean to go on.

Munich: Footie madness & Adrenaline-Fuelled Fun
All of our cities host some seriously cool daytime activities. Munich however, undoubtedly has one of our best selections as it is home to several unique and uber cool experiences. Home to England's 2001 victory over our continental friends (5-1!!!), the Olympic stadium was built for the 1972 Olympic games and has a capacity of 69,250. It is one of the most prestigious stadiums in the world and we give you the chance to experience it in several different ways. You can scale its dizzying heights to experience some seriously impressive views of the city.
If you are feeling brave, then book our Roof Walk & Flying Fox after the climb you can get swing down like George of the Jungle on a 'Flying Fox' zip line. If however, you fancy experiencing a stadium in more conventional manner then we will arrange an all access trip for you around FC Bayern’s new home, the Allianz Arena, built for the 2006 World Cup. If you’d prefer 90 minutes of the beautiful games itself, opposed to visiting Germany’s two most famous stadiums, then we will take you to the local indoor football centre for a game of five-a-side.
Other hi-octane adrenaline pumping, knee jerking activities on offer include stag do classics like Go Karting Indoor - to activities that will test your marksman such as Clay Pigeon Shooting. Whatever kind of daytime stag activities you're looking for, we have it for you!
Take a Chill Pil(sner) & Enjoy a Munich Mega Feast!
Germany is renowned for its beer and Munich is home to the world famous Oktoberfest. The locals have been enjoying that festival for over two hundred years and it’s still going strong. Which tells you that a) they know beer, and b) they know how to throw a party. But chances are you won’t be coming here at the same time as Oktoberfest is usually held. If you fancy seeing Munich’s sights whilst also slurping down some barley pop, then Conference Bike & Beers is for you!
Not only do ze Germans produce good beer, food and play good football, but they also bang out some top quality nosh! We have a range of dinner packages that enable you to line your stomach before a big night out. Our German Meal & Beers package doesn’t really need an intro – it does exactly what it says in the tin! It gives you the traditional German experience that every man should have when they come to Munich. But if you want to really sample Bavarian cuisine (no dieters allowed) then you should book up our Bavarian feast. Then you’ll see why (almost) everyone is so well-fed looking and happy in Munich.
Whatever you choose Munich has so much to offer you won’t go hungry, thirsty or get bored on a stag weekend here!
