Gdansk City Guide for Stag Weekends
A Gdansk stag do is a must as you get to experience three unique cities at once. Situated on the north coast of Poland, the so called ‘tri-city’ sees Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia merge into one and house approximately 500,000 residents.
While the latter may boast an impressive port, it is the former two - Gdansk and Sopot - that posses the necessary ingredients for an amazing stag do. Gdansk is an old historical town that consists of narrow cobbled streets, large red brick buildings and cosy cafes. Approximately 12km away (30 minute drive) lies the glamorous city of Sopot, a high octane beach party town with lots of clubs and some of the best looking females in Poland. Furthermore the average cost of a pint is just over £1.50... what’s not to like?!
How to get to Gdansk
Flights to the Polish Riveria are stupidly cheap and impressively quick. The journey takes a mere 2h 15 minutes from London Stansted and Luton. You are able to book a seat on board Ryanair or Wizz Air for as little as £34 return!!...what are you waiting for?!!
Summer, Summer, Summer Time!
The Summer months are definitely the best for a visit to this neck of the woods. Situated on the Baltic coast, temperatures in Gdansk and Sopot can reach up to 35 °C. During this period the tri-city becomes very busy, so make sure that you book everything well in advance, including reservations in restaurants and bars and some crazy activities.
The majority of activity is concentrated in Sopot around Monte Cassino Avenue, a pedestrian street which is full of bars, clubs and restaurants. One building that you can’t miss is the Crooked House. This houses its own selection of bars and pubs. The old town of Gdansk is also popular in the Summer and boasts a picturesque port. Winters see temperatures fall to as low as -15°C and all the activity outside of the Summer months is situated in Gdansk.
