What to Expect

The boat will pick you up near the following address: Hafen Oberhausen e.V., Schleusenstraße 15, 46049 Oberhausen. It's roughly a one-hour train ride from Düsseldorf or around 40 minutes by car. If you prefer to travel by car, our team can arrange private transport for your group for an additional fee.

Once you arrive at the departure point, the captain will be waiting with the boat, ready to take you out onto the Rhine-Herne Canal. The boat doesn’t travel at high speed because it has only a 10 HP engine, but it's fully equipped with all necessary safety equipment, including life jackets. If you fancy a swim, stops can be arranged along the way. Let the captain know, and they’ll find a suitable spot for you to take a dip.

You’re welcome to bring as much booze as you like on board, just be sure not to litter. Please keep all rubbish with you and dispose of it properly after the trip to help protect the environment. Smoking is allowed, but use the ashtrays.
