Surfing is a real art that takes years to perfect, but you need to start somewhere, so why not make that somewhere Porto on your bachelor party? This package introduces you to the basics of surfing with the help of certified instructors who will teach you everything you need to know so you can glide like a pro without dunking into the water every time (fingers crossed). Think you can handle it? Let's see what you lads have got.
Depending on the day, we'll select an appropriate beach in and around the Porto area, but we don’t usually stick to just one option. We have to monitor things like tide levels to ensure the conditions are suitable to head out. Some of the beaches we usually use include Espinho, Gaia, or Matosinhos. All are absolutely fabulous and suitable for beginner surfers, with light waves, and can be visited all year round, regardless of the season.
You'll meet your driver at the chosen pick-up time at Avenida dos Aliados 138 and then make your way to the beach. On your journey back, you'll also be dropped off at this point. In total, including the lesson and travel time, you should expect the entire experience to last around three and a half hours, although traffic and beach locations may affect this.
Upon reaching the beach, you will meet your instructors, who are trained professionals and know their stuff when it comes to the ocean. For lessons to go ahead, you need a minimum of two people, but don't worry, everyone will receive appropriate attention. The lesson will last three hours, giving you plenty of time to find your way on the board and understand how to handle the waves, so you can come out looking like you know what you're doing.
If you're up for getting drunk after your surfing lesson, a pub crawl is the best way to do it. Visit a list of Porto's bars and get so messed up you won't remember your own name – Pissup style.
