Pastel de nata is what many would describe as Porto's most delicious treat. These flaky, custard-filled tarts can be found in pretty much any bakery across the city, and once you start eating them, it’s hard to stop. But instead of just being customers for the day, step into the shoes of the chefs who actually make them in this 90-minute cooking class, where you’ll get hands-on and see exactly what goes into crafting these tasty little snacks.
The pastel de nata class is led by a local cook who knows everything about creating these desserts and will show you exactly how to make them yourselves. In total, you’ll make three each, which you can either devour on the spot or take home to sort you out the next morning when that hangover kicks in.
Before you roll up your sleeves and get started on your own pastéis, you’ll be given some port wine to sip on and get you in the cooking mood. All cooking materials are provided, so you can focus on the recipe and making the tastiest pastel possible to enjoy afterwards.
We run this workshop at various times every day, with options available seven days a week. From Monday to Saturday, classes are available at 10:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:30 PM, and on Sunday, you can book at 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
Fado is the heart and soul of Portugal, so you’d be mad not to catch at least one show while you’re in the country. We’ll hook you lads up with tickets to one of the best performances in the city, so you can see this powerful music unfold live and experience it properly for yourselves.
