Do you remember the days when your friends would go on holiday and bring home a big old dirty bottle of Absinth because they didn't sell it in your home country because it was illegal? Well, in the Czech Republic, Absinth is more than legal; it's everywhere you go.

Our 60 minute absinth tasting experience takes you on a journey to learn about the famous spirit, including how it's made, how to drink it and how to describe the flavours. The best part is the sampling, of course, where you'll get to enjoy two shots of different types on Absinth.

What To Expect

On the day of your tasting, one of our guides will meet you at your hotel in Prague and take you to the tasting location. If you need any help on the day, they'll be your go-to person.

The absinth tasting will be in Prague's city centre, so you should easily be able to walk there or hop on the metro.

All of your group members will get to try two different types of Absinth; the first is distilled Absinth called La Corneille Blache, which is 65% of pure alcohol, and a bit of a head knocker if you ask us. If the first shot wasn't enough to destroy you, the second surely will; it's a Czech macerated Absinth called Absinth 35, which is a whopping 70%.

If you happen to make it through the tasting in one piece, you'll be given a magnet as a little souvenir to prove you were man enough to hold the Absinth down (not everyone manages to).

What You Should Know Before Booking This Activity

• We won't accept any drunk people on this tour. Everyone needs to arrive in a normal state, or else they may be refused when they arrive. Absinth is a very strong drink, so if someone is too drunk already, they may not be able to handle it.
• This tour is available every day until 8:00 pm; it's the perfect pre-drinks idea!
• We'll reserve a table for you at the tasting location.
• One of our guides will be with you for the activity.
• The group size must be between 5 and 15 people.
